Impact Campaign: Preserving Heritage

When 750,000 Palestinians were expelled from Palestine in 1948, most were destitute leaving with only the clothes on their backs.

Some families, however, managed to take with them items of furniture, artefacts and family heirlooms. These they hold onto as treasured possessions. They are looked after lovingly and guarded jealously.

These items are part of the individual, family, and collective memory. They are a reminder of our history and of the life we had before the Nakba.

This space was created to display these articles in order for them to be preserved and cherished in this “virtual museum” while being shared with others across the world.

They are “kept” here until such time as their owners are able to return with them to Palestine.

This space is open to any Palestinian who wishes to share their treasures with others.
